What is FAEO Academy?
FAEO Academy is a non-profit company that serves engineering professionals across Africa. It brings continuing professional development (CPD) from engineering institutes together on one platform, and each institute keeps its own brand, accreditation and pricing.
Who is FAEO Academy for?
It is for two audiences. For engineering professionals, it is where they attend CPD and keep their hours and certificates. For engineering institutes and councils, it is the platform they use to deliver CPD to their members under their own brand.
Which countries does FAEO Academy cover?
The founding National Members are engineering institutes in South Africa, Tanzania, Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, Nigeria, Uganda and Zambia. Members can also access CPD content from institutes in other countries across Africa.
Do institutes lose their branding?
No. The platform is white-label and institute-first. Your brand, your members, your accreditation and your pricing stay yours.
Are the certificates accredited?
Certificates are issued under each institute's own accreditation, not the Academy's.
How are CPD hours and compliance tracked?
Attendance is verified automatically and recorded to your personal CPD record, where you can see your hours, your history and your compliance status in one place.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is set by each institute. Every institute keeps its own pricing on the platform.
How do engineers pay to register?
Registration supports card and mobile money payment options.
Can members access CPD from other institutes?
Yes. Engineers can access content from institutes across Africa, not only their own, on agreed terms.
How do institutes share content with each other?
When one institute produces a webcast or on-demand session, it can share that content with other member institutes on agreed terms. Their members watch it under their own institute's brand and accreditation. One institute's work becomes CPD for many, so every institute's library grows without extra production.
